I loved his book Unfortunately I lost his book and all 3 of your books in Hurricane Ian. We had 4’ of water in our house and we lost everything including my favorite gardening books

I have been inspired by so many pictures of groupings of flowers in pots cascading down stairs, gathered on porches, and beckoning from other corners! After reading the blog and seeing some of the featured pictures I bet at least half of those photos have come from Claude’s work. I have recently started adding potted flowers to my very empty and bare porch which I am thoroughly enjoying. I started with hydrangeas, stock, bacopa, dianthus, and alyssum.

I started with pots because the ground was hard. My favorite in pots of different sizes are zinnia and coleus.

I accidentally discovered growing hostas in containers. I divided too many one year and had to use a few of my nice pots as holding places until I could plant them. Fast forward to the next spring and they were the stars of the show. Now I always have few in pots to show off.

I love to plant zinnias in containers with lobelia or alyssum that hangs over the edges. Right now I have several tulip pots and I’m loving them. I’m excited to create a container of wildflowers this year. So many colors, sizes and textures.
